-
The head or face
Never place electrodes on the head or face.
-

The neck carries sensitive nerves and blood vessels.

Usage guidelines
How to use EMS safely.
These are the practical habits that keep every AURAE session safe and comfortable.
-
Read the manual first
Always read the manufacturer's user manual before your first session. It is the authoritative source for safe use.
-
Keep sessions short
15–30 minutes per session is the recommended duration. Longer sessions do not necessarily give better results.
-
Start low, build slowly
Begin on a low intensity for your first few sessions. Increase gradually as your body becomes familiar with the sensation.
-
Clean, dry skin only
Use on clean, dry skin. Remove any lotions, oils, or creams before placing electrodes.
-
Never use while sleeping
Do not use the device while asleep, drowsy, or in any state where you cannot monitor the sensation.
-
Never use while driving
Do not use while driving or operating machinery. Sessions should always be done at rest.

What is EMS?
EMS stands for Electrical Muscle Stimulation. It is a technology that uses controlled electrical impulses to encourage muscles to contract and relax. During a session, electrodes placed against the body deliver gentle signals to targeted muscle areas — creating a sensation similar to the muscle activity that occurs during exercise. EMS is designed to complement an active lifestyle, not replace regular movement or professional healthcare.
-
Is EMS safe to use at home?
Yes — when used as directed in the user manual that comes with your AURAE set. Our EMS system is designed for convenient at-home use, with adjustable intensity and clear operating instructions. It is important to read the manual before your first session, follow all safety guidance, and stop immediately if you experience any discomfort. If you have any medical condition or are unsure whether EMS is suitable for you, speak to your GP first.
-
Who should not use EMS?
EMS is not suitable for everyone. Do not use EMS if you have a pacemaker or any implanted electronic device, are pregnant, have epilepsy, or have a heart condition unless cleared by your GP. You should also avoid using EMS over metal implants, on broken or irritated skin, or on areas with poor circulation. If you are unsure, consult a medical professional before use. The full list of contraindications is included in the user manual and on our Safety page.
-
What does EMS actually feel like?
Most people describe it as a gentle tingling or pulsing sensation. As intensity increases, the feeling becomes more like a muscle contraction — similar to the sensation of your muscles working during exercise. The intensity is fully adjustable, so you can start low and find a level that feels comfortable. It should never be painful. If a session feels uncomfortable, simply lower the intensity or stop.
-
How often should I use it?
AURAE is designed for regular, convenient use as part of your wellness and fitness routine. Typical sessions last between 15 and 30 minutes. Many people use EMS a few times a week, but the right frequency depends on your goals and how your body responds. We recommend following the guidance in the user manual and starting gradually — a few short sessions a week is a good place to begin.
Safety, built into the routine.
